Congratulations Nathan [and Natalie]

There were really two winners this episode.

Nathan won two of the three legs of the design triathlon and was named overall winner. His chair makeover and and deconstructed table scape really impressed the judges. While his garden room was not a winner, his first two mini-wins was enough to take the challenge.

Natalie was also a winner. She won the third leg of the triathlon - designing a garden room. For this win, her room will appear in an upcoming issue of Elle Decor ! Which is a great prize!

So, BTD congratulates both Nathan and Natalie for your hard work and successes in this first individual challenge of the season.

This post is only for positive comments for Nathan and Natalie and their work.

Congratulations Team Kelly

Congrats to Wisit Prapong, Ondine Karady, Teresa Keegan and Nathan Thomas for winning the first challenge!! And a big challenge it was! A two story loft, two days and a lamp size budget didn't stop you from creating a lovely space filled with interesting textures and accessories. Designing for one of America's preeminent taste makers could have been daunting, but you were all professional and hardworking. A great team effort!

This post is only for positive words for Team Kelly or their work. If you have anything to say about other designers or the challenge, please click here.

Designer Bio - Nathan Thomas

Nathan
Age: 30
Hometown: Denver, Colo.
Resides in New York City

Originally from Denver, Colo., Nathan was exposed to blueprints and drafting tools at a very young age, by his mother who worked at an architecture firm. His passion for design was instinctual and he always yearned to see more art and architecture. Although he had a love for design, Nathan originally entered college thinking that he was interested in science, but it didn't take long for his true passion in the arts to come through. He became inspired by photography, drawn to the art of manipulating space and time. To further his education in the arts, Nathan transferred to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. in their interior design program, transferring again shortly thereafter to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where he received his BFA in interior design. Following graduation, Nathan went on to become a Junior Designer at Alexandra Champalimaud & Associates, where his projects included The New York Palace Hotel and The Marriot Financial Center. Nathan is currently a Senior Designer at Nathan Egan Interiors, where he focuses on high-end residential work from Manhattan to the East End. He is inspired by the world around him and finds beauty and inspiration everyday.
